Meet Cassie Gellar. She’s freshly sixteen, a loner, and is moving across the country with her family to the strange coastal town of Horn-Horn.

With a new town comes new challenges — particularly, a school full of battling cliques. There’s Eleanore, next-door neighbour, Principal’s daughter, and a truly vapid individual. Then there’s Hayley — rough, opinionated, but honest. Cassie’s struggles to make friends are exacerbated by these individuals vying for her attention.

But her biggest challenge of all comes when she walks home from school and gets lost in the woods… only to find a little boy hiding in a hollowed out tree, shackled, with magical powers. Cassie soon finds herself amidst a war between the worlds as she learns that the boy, Zag, has a very sought after magical gift — he can grant wishes!
